Creating the heartbeat mask following the tutorial.

Creating the bi-color mask following the tutorial.

Creating the mask following the tutorial~ using my own picture.

Started by flood filling the background with a pattern instead of the plain color. Added the text as per tutorial. After creating and adding the flower mask I lowered the opacity of this layer to make it just barely there.

So then I played around with the technique with another picture I had. Some interesting effects can be made by overlaying layers and changing the blend modes of the background layer.
