OLD DOGS NEW TRICKS
Homework for Dennis Reed's Fun With Layers page 2
January 25, 2003
Here I have merged 3 of my photos. See the original photos below. I did a lot of erasing to pull just my daughter out of the dance picture. LOL And I did not like the color of the rose against her pink skirt, so I adjusted the color with the Hue Map. The maple leaves picture was small compared to the others, so I just used the deformation tool on it and stretched it out. The frame around the picture is made with a wonderful tutorial by "Pixel-Tickler" called Kaleidoscope Framing, using settings 1from the tutorial.

I got this photo of the rose from a wonderful site called "Swipe these photo's". Go here to check it out.
While playing around with this picture and the kaleidoscope effect I came up with a setting that begged to be used as a frame. So I reworked the rose picture and colored it this time with the color to target setting in the retouch tool and then deformed it to make it look flatter. Then copied, pasted and resized the layer with my daughter from the other picture. Added a frame and came out with this. Sometimes, like Prof., I get carried away! LOL
